Flash Flood Warning
Issued: 10:30 PM CDT Aug. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 315 am CDT for
southern Loup and northeastern Custer counties...

At 1027 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain are exiting eastern portions of the warned area.
Additional thunderstorms could still redevelop. Doppler radar
estimates 1 to 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
expected.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Taylor, Sargent, Victoria Springs state Recreation Area, Calamus
Reservoir state Recreation Area, Lillian, Walworth, Almeria, Nunda
shoal campground, Divide Hill, Valley View flat campground, gates and
Kent diversion dam State Wildlife Management Area.

Additional rainfall amounts of a half inch are possible in the
warned area.

This includes Highway 183 between mile markers 110 and 132.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

... Significant weather advisory for east central Custer County until
1130 PM CDT...

At 1040 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Ansley, or 19 miles east of Broken Bow, moving southeast at 30 mph.

Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Ansley, Mason City and Gavin siding.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 183 between mile markers 87 and 94.
Highway 2 between mile markers 291 and 307.
Highway 92 between mile markers 300 and 308.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.


A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 am CDT for
central Nebraska.
