Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 2:29 AM CDT Aug. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 830 am CDT Sunday for
northern York... northeastern Hamilton... central Merrick and Polk
counties...

As of 225 am CDT, radar precipitation estimates indicate that up to
two and one half inches of rain has fallen across parts of the
warned area. Rain has mostly ended, but runoff may continue to
produce flooding overnight.

This includes streams and drainage basins hit hard by heavy rain
early this week. It is likely that some some streams may rise out of
their banks, or low water crossings could be temporarily under water
at times overnight. People in Polk County should be especially
watchful of rising water overnight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
