The National Weather Service in Hastings has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Clay County in south central Nebraska...
York County in east central Nebraska...
Hamilton County in south central Nebraska...
Polk County in east central Nebraska...

* until 745 PM CDT Friday

* as of 3 PM CDT, information from a variety of sources including
emergency management officials, a National Weather Service
employee surveying flooding, and automated river gauges indicated
that minor flooding continued within various portions of the
warned area.

* In Polk County, several rural roads remained closed. Minor
flooding continued along the Davis Creek, along the Clear Creek in
the northern part of the County and along the big Blue River
mainly south of Shelby.

* In both Hamilton County and York County, minor flooding was
reported along both the Lincoln creek and the Beaver Creek in the
Aurora and York areas.

* Along the West Fork big Blue River in northwestern Clay, southern
Hamilton and southern York counties, the river was reportedly near-
bankfull, with some minor flooding noted in spots. Although truly
impactful flooding is not currently expected along the West Fork
big blue, interested parties are encouraged to monitor trends this
evening into Friday.

* Some communities that could still experience flooding, mainly in
surrounding rural areas, include... York, Aurora, Stromsburg,
Henderson, Osceola, Shelby, Hampton, McCool Junction, Giltner,
Bradshaw, Waco, Benedict, Gresham, Stockham, Lushton and Thayer.
