... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect west central St. John
The Baptist... Ascension... St. James... southeastern West Baton
Rouge... southwestern Livingston... southeastern Iberville and
southwestern East Baton Rouge parishes...

At 452 PM CDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Old Jefferson to Sorrento to LaPlace.
Movement was southwest at 10 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Gonzales, Donaldsonville, Plaquemine,
Reserve, Oak Hills Place, LaPlace, St. Gabriel, Gramercy, Addis,
Lutcher, Brusly, White Castle, Sorrento, Westminster, geismer,
Garyville, Shenandoah and Old Jefferson.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
