... Hot and humid today...

Temperatures will rise quickly this morning leading up to the
solar eclipse. During the eclipse, temperatures may fall a couple
degrees, but will then rebound by late this afternoon into the
lower 90s. With expected humidity levels, the heat index just
before the eclipse could reach the mid 90s over western portions
of south-central Kentucky near the location of solar totality.
While the heat index may fall a couple degrees during the eclipse,
it will rise quickly again afterward, reaching the mid 90s across
much of central Kentucky and south-central Indiana, with upper
90s in some locations mainly along and west if Interstate 65 by
late afternoon.

With many people expected to be outdoors today for the eclipse,
the potential for heat related illness may increase. If you will
be outside for a long time today, drink plenty of water and find
opportunities to stay in the shade if possible.
