The Flood Warning continues for
the marais des cygnes river at Osawatomie.

* Until Friday evening.
* At 3:30 am Tuesday the stage was 13.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue
to rise to near 40.0 feet by Wednesday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by Thursday before midnight.
* At 39.0 feet... many roads in the vicinity of Osawatomie are under
water. The water also reaches the bottom of the Missouri-Pacific
Railroad bridge.
* At 31.0 feet... 347th Road or Main Street east of Highway 169 is
under water.
* At 28.0 feet... low-lying areas along the river begin to flood.

southern Miami County in east central Kansas...
Linn County in east central Kansas...
Henry County in west central Missouri...
Bates County in west central Missouri...

* until 900 PM CDT Tuesday

* at 900 am CDT, reporting gauges indicate widespread rainfall
totals of over 3 to 4 inches fell in the warning area overnight,
leading to flooding of some area roads and low water crossings.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clinton, Osawatomie, Butler, Windsor, Adrian, Rich Hill,
Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound City, Drexel, Linn valley, Calhoun,
Deepwater, Montrose, Hume, Parker, Fontana, Coal, Amsterdam and
Amoret.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
