The Flood Warning continues for
the Wakarusa river near Lawrence 4s.
* From this morning to Wednesday morning.
* At 8:45 am Tuesday the stage was 23.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.6 feet by this
afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage this evening.
* Impact... at 25.0 feet... Road 1150 east floods.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northern Franklin County in east central Kansas...
southern Douglas County in east central Kansas...
northeastern Osage County in east central Kansas...

* until 1230 PM CDT

* at 831 am CDT, emergency management reported flooding across the
area with many rural roads flooded across northern parts of
Franklin County. Area rivers also continue to rise.

* Some locations that are experience flooding include...
Baldwin City, Wellsville, Overbrook, Centropolis, Lone Star,
Pleasant Grove, Vinland, Globe and Pomona Lake.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 192 and 198.

This Flood Warning replaces the Flash Flood Warning that will be
allowed to expire at 845 am CDT.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
