Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 10:59 AM HST Aug. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The flood advisory remains in effect until 100 PM HST for the
island of Oahu in Honolulu County...

At 1054 am HST... moderate to heavy rainfall continues across
portions of Oahu. The highest rain rates were in the range of 1 to 2
inches per hour over Mililani, Wahiawa, and the windward slopes of
the Koolau Mountains between Waikane and Laie. More rainfall is
expected to develop over the island during the next several hours.

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
Wahiawa, Waialua, Schofield Barracks, Ahuimanu, Punaluu, Wheeler
Field, Waikele, Waiahole, Nanakuli, Pearl City, Waipahu and Hauula.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.
