Watches & Warnings

Heat Advisory
Issued: 8:05 PM CDT Aug. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect from noon to 9 PM CDT Sunday...
... Heat advisory for today has been cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has cancelled the heat
advisory in effect for today.

* Temperature... high temperatures Sunday in the mid 90s combined with
high humidity will result in dangerous heat index values around 105
degrees during the afternoon. Heat index values have fallen below
105 degrees this evening so the heat advisory for today has been
cancelled.

* Impacts... the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are
possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
