The Flood Warning continues for
the Kickapoo river at Ontario.
* Until Friday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:10 PM Thursday the stage was 20.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall... dropping below flood
stage by Friday morning.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... flooding occurs along the river in the
Ontario area. Water may be over Highway p near bridge 10, and also
over Winchell Valley Road at bridge 8.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
La Crosse County in west central Wisconsin...
southwestern Jackson County in west central Wisconsin...
central Monroe County in west central Wisconsin...

* until 815 PM CDT

* at 230 PM CDT, local law enforcement reports numerous roads remain
closed due to flooding, especially in southern Monroe County.
Highway 27 south of Sparta to Melvina remains closed.
Additionally, the La Crosse river is experiencing flooding from
Sparta to La Crosse.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
La Crosse, Sparta, Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, Bangor, Cashton,
North Bend, Dakota, Cataract, Brice Prairie, Franklin, Medary,
Leon, Portland, Burns, Norwalk and Rockland.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon
through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and Wisconsin,
including the following counties, in northeast Iowa, Allamakee,
Clayton, Howard, and Winneshiek. In southeast Minnesota, Dodge,
Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. In
Wisconsin, Adams, Buffalo, Crawford, Grant, Jackson, Juneau, La
Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Trempealeau, and Vernon.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flash flooding, additional Road
washouts, rock and mud slides, and river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
