Lake Effect Snow Warning
Issued: 8:57 PM CST Dec. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Lake effect snow warning remains in effect until 7 am EST
/6 am CST/ Saturday...

Hazardous weather...

* lake effect snow will continue through late Friday night.

* Northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph near Lake Superior will
lead to patchy blowing and drifting snow tonight.

* Expect an additional 2 to 7 inches of snow tonight with another 2
to 7 inches of snow Friday and Friday night. The most snow will
fall over the higher terrain near Lake Superior... including at
Ironwood... Bergland and Rockland... while the least snow will
occur well inland toward Watersmeet and Paulding.

Impacts...

* roads will be snow covered and slippery.

* Moderate to heavy snow and patchy blowing snow will reduce
visibilities to less than one-half mile at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a lake effect snow warning means significant amounts of lake-
effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous
   or impossible.

* Prepare... plan... and stay informed. Visit www.Weather.Gov/MQT
