Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 10:16 PM EDT Jun. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The urban and small stream flood advisory remains in effect until
1145 PM EDT for northeastern Wayne County...

At 1012 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain beginning to
diminish over the area. However, the flood advisory remains in
effect while runoff continue to progress.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Livonia, Taylor, Grosse Pointe, downtown Detroit, Detroit, Dearborn,
Dearborn Heights, Lincoln Park, Allen Park, Inkster, Hamtramck,
Grosse Pointe Woods, Harper Woods, Highland Park, Grosse Pointe Park,
Melvindale, Grosse Pointe Farms, River Rouge, Redford and northeast
Detroit.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
