Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 8:17 PM EDT Jul. 24, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northern Bradley County in eastern Tennessee...
southwestern Meigs County in eastern Tennessee...
northeastern Hamilton County in eastern Tennessee...

* until 1015 PM EDT

* at 817 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already
fallen... with an additional inch possible over the couple of
hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cleveland... Charleston... Calhoun... Hopewell... Big Spring...
Birchwood and Sale Creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.
