The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

* flood advisory for...
Wilkes County in northwestern North Carolina...

* until 615 am EDT

* at 221 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due widespread
showers and thunderstorms across the area. The rainfall has been
increasing across this area during the past hour and additional
heavy rainfall is moving northeast from Caldwell County into this
area as well. One to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen in this area
during the past hour and an additional one inch of rainfall during
the next hour is likely. Minor flooding can be expected within the
advisory area.
