... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... the Genesee Valley and northern Finger
Lakes... including interior portions of the western southern
tier.

* Timing... through early this evening.

* Hazards... snow... mixed with patchy sleet and freezing rain south
of Lake Ontario.

* Accumulations... 1 to 3 inches of snow today... with a trace of
ice accumulation.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph.

* Visibilities... as low as a mile at times.

* Temperatures... highs in the lower 30s today. Around 30 tonight.

* Impacts... wet snow... with patchy sleet and freezing rain will
result in slushy and slick travel conditions. Allow extra time
for the morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory is normally issued for a variety of
winter weather conditions such as light snow... blowing snow...
sleet... freezing rain and wind chills. While the weather will be
significant... the word advisory implies that severe winter
weather is not anticipated.

* Waves... 3 to 6 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 18 to 33 knots
and/or waves averaging 4 feet or more are expected to produce
hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced
mariners... especially those operating smaller vessels... should
avoid navigating in these conditions.
