... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST
Tuesday...

* locations... much of northeast Connecticut as well as
western... central and interior northeast Massachusetts.

* Hazard types... sleet along with some snow and freezing rain.

* Accumulations... sleet and snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches. In
addition... a narrow swath of a tenth to a quarter inch of ice
accretion is possible across the high terrain along the east
slopes of the Berkshires and northern Worcester Hills mainly on
Tuesday.

* Timing... moderate to heavy sleet expected overnight. The sleet
will be mixed at times with snow across interior northern
Massachusetts. Sleet will change to rain in the lower
elevations toward daybreak Tuesday... but some freezing rain will
be possible across the high terrain.

* Impacts... untreated roads and walkways will be slippery into
Tuesday morning and the rush hour is expected to be impacted.
Some locations will receive a few inches of just sleet, which
will be heavy to shovel.

* Winds... northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Gale Warning...
which is in effect until 6 am EST Tuesday. The Storm Warning has
been cancelled.

* Winds and seas... northeast winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt.
Seas 6 to 9 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means sustained winds or frequent gusts of 34 to
47 kt are expected or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale
conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It
is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience
seek safe Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
