Special Weather Statement
Issued: Environment Canada
Special Weather Statement issued by Environment. 06:59 PM ADT Wednesday 22 March 2017.
Blizzard conditions with poor visibility in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring.

A low pressure system over the Maritimes will move to lie east of the island overnight. A few flurries and showers ahead of the low will change to snow and blowing snow tonight as the low passes to the east. Strong northerly winds gusting to 90 km/h will give near zero visibilities in blowing snow. Total snowfall amounts of near 15 cm are expected.

###

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.

Blizzard warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weatheraspc.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #PEStorm.
