The Flood Warning continues for
the East Branch Pecatonica River near Blanchardville.
* At 9 am Friday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to crest near 13.5 feet this
afternoon and then fall to near 11.4 feet by Saturday evening and
then have a secondary crest near 12.6 feet Sunday evening.
* Impact... at 13.0 feet... floodwaters cover a portion of Highway h in
Blanchardville. Floodwaters are into McKellar Park in
Blanchardville.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 4 PM CDT this
afternoon through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin,
including the following areas, in south central Wisconsin,
Columbia, Dane, green, Iowa, Lafayette, Marquette, rock, and
Sauk. In southeast Wisconsin, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha,
Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth, and Waukesha.

* From 4 PM CDT this afternoon through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flooded roads and intersections, river
flooding, and possible rock and mud slides in hilly terrain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Those outside, including campers and hikers, should avoid low
ground and areas along rivers and streams, where rapid water
rises could occur. Be especially cautious at night, when flash
flooding is difficult to see.

... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect Lafayette and southern
Iowa counties...

At 1235 PM CDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Fennimore to near
Menominee. Movement was east at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Darlington, Shullsburg, Belmont, Benton,
Argyle, Blanchardville, Somers, Barneveld, Wiota, Ridgeway, Linden,
New Diggings, South Wayne, Cobb, Lamont, Rewey, Hollandale and
Gratiot.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
