Fire Weather Warning, Fire Weather Watch
Issued: 6:00 AM PDT Jul. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning now in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
   11 am PDT Tuesday for abundant lightning on dry fuels for
   fire weather zones 624 and 625...

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Tuesday morning through
   Tuesday evening for abundant lightning on dry fuels for fire
   weather zones 624 and 625...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 11 am Monday to 11 am PDT
Tuesday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire
Weather Watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday
evening.

* Impacts: thunderstorms and very dry fuels will likely result
in new fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could contribute
to fire spread. Initial attack resources could be overwhelmed
and holdover fires are possible.

* Area affected by warning:

in south central or..all of fire weather zones 624 and 625.

* Counties affected by warning:

in south central or... Klamath and lake counties.

* Thunderstorms: scattered thunderstorms with lightning activity
level of 3. However, in southern half of Lake County and from
Highway 395 east into Harney County precipitation could approach
or locally exceed wetting rain, and lightning activity level
could be as high as lal 4.

* Timing: thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and continue
overnight into Tuesday morning. Another round of scattered
thunderstorms is likely Tuesday afternoon and evening.

* One less spark, one less wildfire.

... Red flag warning in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday for
abundant lightning and gusty outflow winds for fire weather zones
611, 640, and 642...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday.

* Affected area... in Oregon... fire weather zones 611, the southern
portion of zone 640, and all but the extreme northern portion
of zone 642.

* Timing... Monday afternoon and evening.

* Lightning activity... lal 3.

* Precipitation... generally less than one tenth of an inch.

* Impacts... lightning may cause new fire starts in the warning
area. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly due to
gusty outflow winds. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
