The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Rogers County in northeastern Oklahoma...
Osage County in northeastern Oklahoma...
Creek County in northeastern Oklahoma...
northwestern McIntosh County in southeastern Oklahoma...
Washington County in northeastern Oklahoma...
Pawnee County in northeastern Oklahoma...

* until 900 PM CDT

* at 306 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that has caused
flooding. At least 3 to 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding is
occurring across some roads in Bixby and Owasso. Additional heavy
thunderstorms are moving into Pawnee and Osage counties and will
aggravate any ongoing flooding.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...

Bartlesville... Sand Springs...
Okmulgee... Bristow...
Pawhuska... Pawnee...

the warned area this afternoon.

This includes the following highways,
Interstate 40 in Oklahoma between mile markers 232 and 246.
Interstate 44 between mile markers 178 and 235.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the bird creek near Sperry.
* From this evening to Monday morning, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 2:00 PM Saturday, the stage was 16.15 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... bird creek near Sperry is expected to rise above
flood stage this evening and continue to rise to near 25.0 feet by
Sunday morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Monday morning.
* Impact... at 26.0 feet, moderate flooding of rural lands occurs from
Skiatook to Turley. Highway 20 east of Skiatook is impassable. Some
minor flooding of streets in east Skiatook may occur.

The Flood Warning continues for
the bird creek at Avant.
* From this evening to late tonight, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 1:30 PM Saturday, the stage was 8.70 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... bird creek at Avant is expected to rise above flood
stage this evening and continue to rise to near 17.1 feet by this
evening. The river is expected to fall below flood stage this
evening.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet, agricultural lands along the bird creek
floodplain downstream from Avant may experience minor flooding.
