The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Grant County in south central New Mexico...

* until 845 PM MDT

* at 444 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain in skates and Terry canyons north of State Highway 35.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.

* Flash flooding will likely occur on sapillo creek at the two low
water crossings on Highway 35 between mile markers 18 and 20 or
about 3 and 4 miles southeast of Lake Roberts

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Significant weather advisory for Central Grant and north central
Hidalgo counties until 800 PM MDT...

At 716 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles northwest of White Signal, or 12 miles east of Redrock, moving
northeast at 15 mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
White Signal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
