Special Statement
Issued: 3:27 PM MST Dec. 6, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Much colder weather to arrive Wednesday and Thursday...

A modified Arctic cold front will move southward through the
northern half of the state Wednesday, then through the remainder
of the state Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Many locations
across the northern third of New Mexico will struggle to reach the
freezing mark both Wednesday and Thursday. Low temperatures
Wednesday night will drop to single digits and teens across much
of the area. Wind chill values in the single digits both above and
below zero will be common Thursday morning. Slightly warmer
condtions are forecast for Thursday night.

Before the cold air arrives, remember to insulate exposed pipes
and drain irrigation systems. Ensure that outdoor animals have
warm shelter and water dishes that will not freeze over. If
traveling, stock you emergency kit with extra blankets. Visit
weather.Gov/abq, listen to NOAA Weather Radio or monitor local
media for more specific information for your local area.
