Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:30 PM CST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am Tuesday to 9 am
CST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
from 3 am Tuesday to 9 am CST Wednesday.

* Timing... light snow will begin late tonight or Tuesday morning
and then become moderate or possibly heavy at times Tuesday
afternoon and evening. The snow should gradually taper off
Wednesday morning.

* Main impact... hazardous travel due to snow packed roads and
reduced visibilities with blowing and drifting snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulations from 3 to 6 inches are
possible.

* Winds... north or northwest winds from 15 to 30 mph could cause
considerable blowing and drifting snow... especially from Tuesday
evening into Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
moderate snow accumulations are expected. Visibilities will also
be limited due to a combination of falling snow and blowing snow.
Use extra caution when traveling.
