Flood Warning
Issued: 10:31 AM EDT Apr. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Tar River at Greenville.
* Until further notice.
* At 10 am Thursday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 18.0 feet by
Monday morning then begin slowly falling.
* Impact... at 19.0 feet... secondary roads adjacent to the river will
flood. Water will begin to inundate portions of Pitt-Greenville
Airport. Water will reach a few homes near the river. Many acres of
farmland, and much of River Park North flooded. River Drive, in
Greenville, begins to flood along with riverwalk townhomes.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Contentnea Creek near Hookerton.
* Until further notice.
* At 10 am Thursday the stage was 15.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 17.5 feet by
tomorrow evening then begin falling.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... water floods some homes along water St. In
Grifton as well as some businesses just to the east of the bridge
on Highway 118. Water will surround many homes in Tick Bite.
Highway 123 just north of the bridge in Hookerton will flood. Water
will threaten homes on loop Road and four way Rd. Between Snow Hill
and Hookerton.
