Special Statement
Issued: 3:49 AM EDT Jun. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Potential flooding and severe weather threats over southeast
New England...

Moderate to heavy rain forecast across southeast New England this
morning with rainfall of 1 to 2 inches possible yields the potential
for urban and poor drainage flood issues. Greater concern for
coastal communities as rainfall will be coincident with high tide,
yet a lower high tide as compared to recent astronomical high tides.

In addition, embedded thunderstorms within the moderate to heavy
rain are forecast. These storms may become strong to severe with
the main threats being gusty winds and possibly a brief tornado or
waterspout.

Bulk of the flooding and severe weather threats are expected to
occur through roughly noon, clearing out and concluding thereafter.
