The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a

* flood advisory for...

* until 1215 PM EDT

* at 805 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Radar estimates that between 1 and 2 inches of rain has fallen
across much of the advisory area early this morning. An additional
inch of rain is possible through the mid morning hours, with
localized amounts of 1 to 2 additional inches of rainfall. Runoff
from this heavy rainfall will lead to some minor flooding across
the area through midday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Wayne, Logansport, Columbia City, North Manchester, Tri-Lakes,
Huntertown, Churubusco, South Whitley, Akron, Grabill, Mexico,
Leo-Cedarville, Denver, Roann, Fulton, Larwill, Macy, Sidney, nyena
lake and Blue Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
southern Allen County in northeastern Indiana...
Wabash County in North Central Indiana...
Huntington County in northeastern Indiana...
northeastern Wells County in northeastern Indiana...
southeastern Cass County in North Central Indiana...
Miami County in North Central Indiana...

* until 1215 PM EDT

* at 612 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor
drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.
Doppler radar estimates that between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain had
fallen across portions of the advisory area through 600 am
EDT... with the heaviest amounts across southern Cass and southern
Miami counties... and across southern Allen County in northern
Indiana. Additional rainfall amounts in excess of 1 inch are
possible through mid morning. Runoff from this heavy rainfall will
result in minor flooding through midday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Wayne, Logansport, Huntington, New Haven, Peru, Wabash,
Ossian, Grissom AFB, Woodburn, Monroeville, Andrews, Markle,
Walton, Bunker Hill, La Fontaine, Mexico, Aboite, Lincoln, Wells
and Middletown.
