Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 12:39 PM MDT Mar. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
southeastern Custer County in central Idaho...
Central Butte County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1245 PM MDT Thursday

* at 1232 PM MDT, emergency management reported minor flooding due
to snowmelt continues along the Highway 93 corridor from
Darlington, to Moore, to west of Arco. Water was flowing across
the Road and damaging a culvert on 3400 west off of Highway 93
north of Moore, and minor Road damage has occurred at other
locations across the advisory area. Area streams and creeks are
running high, especially Antelope Creek southwest of Darlington.
With warm temperatures and precipitation in the forecast, minor
flooding along creeks and streams and in fields and low lying
areas is expected to continue.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Arco, grouse, Darlington and Moore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
