The Flood Warning continues for
the Spokane river at Spokane.
* Until April 4th.
* At 4:45 am Wednesday the stage was 27.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river is expected to slowly fall over the next
week. By Tuesday, April fourth, the Spokane river may fall
below the flood stage of 27 feet.

* at 28.0 feet... flooding in sections of Peaceful Valley is likely.
Minor flooding along upriver drive and in the Riverpoint Industrial
area is also possible.
* At 27.5 feet... water will be over one Lane of upriver drive between
stone and regal streets and encroach onto The Shoulder of the Road
in other sections of upriver drive between stone and Granite
streets.
* At 27.0 feet... significant stretches of the Centennial Trail
between mission Avenue and Greene street will be inundated. Minor
flooding will occur along the river's edge in Peaceful Valley park
and in the yards of homes at the east end of Water Street. The
river may back up through storm drains onto Main Street near its
intersection with Elm Street in Peaceful Valley. Minor flooding of
low lying areas along the Spokane River Valley will occur.
* At 25.4 feet... sections of the Centennial Trail along upriver
drive, between mission Avenue and Greene street, will be covered in
water. Water will be at the trail's edge in several locations along
this same stretch.

The National Weather Service in Spokane, WA has issued a
* Flood Watch for
the little Spokane river at Dartford
* from late tonight to Friday morning.
* At 9:45 am Wednesday the stage was 5.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage is 6.50 feet.
* Forecast... flood stage may be reached by early tomorrow.

* at 6.5 feet... flooding of homes and basements may occur,
including some residences along Brooklawn and Greenleaf drives.
* At 6.0 feet... backyard and field flooding will occurs along
little Spokane and Greenleaf drives.
* At 5.7 feet... Pine River Park will flood.
* At 5.4 feet... Pine River Park will begin to flood.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Idaho and Washington, including the following
counties, in Idaho, Benewah, Bonner, boundary, Kootenai,
Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, and Shoshone. In Washington, Asotin,
Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens.

* Through Friday morning

* additional rainfall amounts of a half inch to three quarters of
an inch will be common over the Idaho Panhandle and the eastern
third of Washington by late tonight. Some mountainous locations
will have the potential for over an inch of rainfall by Thursday
morning.

* Water tables are running high from the last few weeks of wet
weather and melting snow. Localized field flooding is already
occurring and will likely to worsen by Thursday morning. Small
streams and creeks will see increased flows. This includes the
little Spokane river which is forecast to rise close to minor
flood stage Thursday afternoon. Saturated grounds will also lead
to potential mudslides in steep terrain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
