Issued: 8:48 AM PDT Jul. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 11 PM
PDT this evening for thunderstorms producing abundant lightning
and gusty outflow winds...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 11 PM PDT
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Timing... scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and
continue through late this evening.

* Lightning activity... 3 meaning thunderstorms are scattered with
light to moderate rain.

* Precipitation... up to one quarter inch of rain with most storms.
There is a chance that a thunderstorm or two could bring one
half inch of rain.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.






600 am PDT Wed Jul 26 2017

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am this morning to
11 PM PDT this evening for abundant lightning and dry fuels for
fire weather zones 624 and 625...

* impacts: lightning and high fire danger will likely result in new
fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could contribute to fire
spread. Despite rainfall, initial attack resources could be
overwhelmed and holdover fires are possible.

* Affected area:
in south central or... most areas in fire weather zones 624 and
625.

* Counties affected:
in south central or... Harney... Klamath... lake.

* Thunderstorms: scattered thunderstorms with lightning activity
level of 3. Lightning activity level of 4 is possible in the higher
terrain areas. Wetting rains will occur with some storms but
there will be strikes outside of wetting rains.

* Timing: scattered thunderstorms will persist through this
evening... peaking in strength and coverage during the afternoon
and evening.
