Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 8:51 PM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Clear Lake at Lakeport.
* At 8:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 10.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast to rise to near 11.0 ft tomorrow evening then forecast to
fluctuate near 11.0 ft thru late Thursday evening.
* Flood stage 9.0 ft
* monitor stage 8.0 ft
* impact... near 11.0 feet, major flooding occurs all aruond the north
end of the lake, especially in Lakeport and Clearlake Oaks. Highway
20 around the north end of the lake is closed in some areas.
* Impact... near 9.0 feet, low lying structures and some main roads
around the lake are threatened by the High Lake levels.
* Impact... near 8.5 feet, minor flooding of some lake side residents
occurs. More buildings are threatened from Lakeport to Clearlake
Oaks.

... A Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams remains in
effect until 400 PM PST Thursday for Colusa... Yolo... Sutter...
Solano... Plumas... alpine... Placer... Shasta... Lassen... Amador...
Tuolumne... Sacramento... lake... Stanislaus... San Joaquin... El
Dorado... Calaveras... Tehama... Butte... Glenn... Sierra... Yuba and
Nevada counties...

Officials have reported that Clear Creek out of Whiskeytown dam in
Shasta County will exceed the safe channel capacity and will flood.
Downstream locations impacted includes the environmental school and
other residents in low lying areas near the creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Forecast information for
Sacramento River at Tisdale Weir.
* At 8:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 49.9 feet.
* Present overflow depth is about 4.4 ft then overflow depth at Weir
decreasing to 3.8 ft Thursday evening then overflow to remain near
depth of 3.8 ft thru late Thursday evening.
* Flood stage 53.0 ft
* monitor stage 45.5 ft
* impact... near 45.5 feet, Tisdale Weir crest elevation. Overflow
begins into the Tisdale bypass. This water eventually ends up in
the Sutter bypass.
