The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southwestern Mohave County in northwestern Arizona...
eastern San Bernardino County in Southern California...
south central Clark County in southern Nevada...

* until 500 PM PDT/500 PM MST/

* at 1105 am PDT/1105 am MST/, Doppler radar and automated rain
gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the
warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly as
thunderstorms become more develop and work in from the north
across the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bullhead City, Kingman, Laughlin, Mitchell caverns, Yucca, Highway
95 at mile marker 29, Topock, Wikieup, Cima, Katherine Landing,
Needles, Oatman, mid hills campground, Mojave ranch estates, Black
Canyon equestrian campground, Diamond M ranch, Big Bend rec area,
Highway 95 and I-40, Golden Valley and dw ranch Road.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
