... Excessive heat warning remains in effect until 9 PM PDT
Monday...

* high temperatures... around 115 today, 115 to 120 Saturday and
Sunday, and 112-118 Monday.

* Impacts... increased risk for heat related illness and death.
Those working or exercising outdoors during the daytime,
children and the elderly, and those without access to adequate
air conditioning will be most at risk. A higher risk of tire
blowouts.

* Outlook... temperatures lowering to around 110 Tuesday, then in
the 105 to 109 range for the rest of next week.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.
