Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:28 AM MST Feb. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
8 PM MST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory, which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 8
PM MST Tuesday.

* Snow accumulations... 2 to 4 inches generally expected below 7000
feet and 4 to 8 inches above 7000 feet. Locally higher amounts
nearing 10 inches possible over the peaks of the jemez and
Chuska Mountains.

* Timing... snow will develop tonight and increase in coverage and
intensity after midnight into Tuesday morning. Snow will
continue Tuesday afternoon before diminishing early Tuesday
evening.

* Winds... west and southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts near 45 mph
tonight into Tuesday morning, gradually diminishing Tuesday
afternoon and evening.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for snow at all
locations.

* Local impacts... roads will become snow covered and icy at times
especially on bridges and overpasses. Sudden reductions in
visibility due to the snow and blowing snow can be expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be restricted due to a combination of falling
and blowing snow.
