Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:59 PM MDT Aug. 29, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southwestern Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico...
southeastern Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...

* until 330 PM MDT

* at 156 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms east and northaest of Placitas. Up
to an inch of rain has fallen in less than one hours time in these
locations as the storms producing the rainfall have moved very
little. Arroyo Coyote... Arroyo Tuerto... Arroyo tonque... and
Arroyo de La Vega de Los Tanos as well as local roadways may
experience minor flooding.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Santa
Fe and southeastern Sandoval counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remember... ditches are deadly. A gentle flow of water can become a
raging torrent in a matter of minutes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
