Issued: 7:56 PM MST Dec. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM MST Friday...

* affected area... the Great Salt Lake Desert and mountains north
of I-80 and the Oquirrh Mountains. This warning does not
include Wendover or I-80 from the Utah and Nevada border to
Salt Lake City.

* Snow accumulations... 5 to 10 inches.

* Timing... periods of snow this evening then becoming widespread
and heavy at times through Friday morning before tapering off.

* Impacts... winter driving conditions can be expected along
Interstate 84 and State Route 30 tonight and continuing into
Friday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means that significant
accumulations of snow are expected or occurring. Driving
conditions may be hazardous. Use caution. Keep a winter storm
survival kit in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
