Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 5:28 AM PDT Mar. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Idaho and Washington, including the following
counties, in Idaho, Benewah, Bonner, boundary, Kootenai,
Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, and Shoshone. In Washington, Asotin,
Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens.

* Through Friday morning

* scattered showers are expected today. Some of the strongest
cells will have the potential to produce a tenth to quarter of
an inch quickly... but the majority of north Idaho and northeast
Washington will receive less than a tenth of an inch of
precipitation today.

* Field flooding: water tables are running high from the last few
weeks of wet weather and melting Snow. Field flooding is
ongoing. For areas with poor drainage... field flooding may be an
issue for the next few weeks.

* Rock and mud slides: soil is saturated over north Idaho and
northeast Washington. Areas with steep terrain will be prone to
rock and mud slides until the ground is allowed to dry.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
