The National Weather Service in Denver Colorado has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
west Central Adams County in northeastern Colorado...

* until 1115 PM MDT

* at 818 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen... and another inch of rain can be expected before
decreasing. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
southwestern Thornton... southern Westminster...
southwestern Commerce City and Federal Heights.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Clear Creek and
little Dry Creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Turn around dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and
underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

The National Weather Service in Denver Colorado has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Jefferson County in central Colorado...
west Central Adams County in northeastern Colorado...

* until 1100 PM MDT

* at 803 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms extending from the Federal Heights area and then
south and southwest into the Golden area. These storms will
produce between one half and 1.5 inches of rain in 30 minutes.
This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lakewood... southwestern Thornton... Arvada... Westminster...
northern Littleton... southwestern Northglenn... Wheat Ridge...
Golden... Federal Heights... Morrison...
Chatfield Reservoir and Red Rocks Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

thunderstorms extending from Denver toward Parker. Between one
half inch and 1.25 inches of rain can be expected in 30 minutes or
less. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the
advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Denver... southwestern Aurora... Centennial... Highlands Ranch...
Parker... Littleton... Englewood... Greenwood Village... Lone Tree...
Sheridan... The Pinery and Surrey Ridge.
