Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:24 PM CDT Jul. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 9 PM CDT this evening through
Thursday morning...

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Oklahoma and Texas,
including the following areas, in Oklahoma, Cimarron. In
Texas, Dallam and Hartley.

* From 9 PM CDT this evening through 7 am CDT Thursday morning

* periods of scattered to numerous thunderstorms with heavy rain
are expected across the northwestern panhandles tonight into
Thursday morning. Areas in the watch are expected to experience
prolonged periods of heavy rainfall due to slow moving
thunderstorms in a moist environment. As a result, heavy
rainfall is expected to produce excessive runoff and possible
flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
