... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am to 8 PM CST Thursday for
the South Plains and extreme southwestern Texas Panhandle for 20
foot winds of 20 mph or more... relative humidities of 15 percent
or less and a high fire danger...

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Friday morning through
Friday evening for the South Plains and extreme southwestern Texas
Panhandle for 20 foot winds of 20 mph or more... relative
humidities of 15 percent or less and a high fire danger...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 11 am to 8 PM CST Thursday. A
Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch
is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening.

* Wind... westerly winds at 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph on
Thursday. Northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph on Friday.

* Humidity... between 5 and 10 percent.

* Fuels... dry.

* Impacts... any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is discouraged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are imminent or already occurring. These conditions can create
rapid wildfire growth.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Monitor later forecasts and possible red
