Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 4:22 PM CDT Aug. 30, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Oklahoma and Texas... including the following
areas... in Oklahoma... Beaver and Texas. In Texas... Armstrong...
   Carson... Collingsworth... Donley... gray... Hansford...
Hemphill... Hutchinson... Lipscomb... Ochiltree... Roberts and
Wheeler.

* Through 7 PM Wednesday evening

* periods of scattered to numerous thunderstorms with heavy rain
are expected across most of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles
through Wednesday evening. Areas in the eastern half of the
Texas and Oklahoma panhandles have already seen heavy rains
over the past few days resulting in saturated soil conditions.
This combined with additional rounds of heavy rain expected
through Wednesday evening will lead to excessive runoff and
possible flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be
alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop.
