the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Onion Creek at Hwy 183.
* Until Thursday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 am Wednesday the stage was 6.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to rise to
near 18.1 feet by this afternoon due to heavy rains this morning. Up to 5 inches
of rain has fallen across the region over the past few hours.The river is projected
to fall below flood stage by tonight.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... the 12000 block of old San Antonio Road upstream may
be flooded. Neighborhoods along Onion Creek are not affected..

* Flash Flood Warning for...
west central Bastrop County in south central Texas...
southeastern Travis County in south central Texas...

* until 100 PM CDT

* at 1003 am CDT... the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Radar shows nearly stationary
thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall over southeast Travis
County. Three to five inches of rain have fallen with more
possible over the next one to two hours. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Austin... Austin Bergstrom int ap... Tanglewood Forest...
Mustang Ridge... Shady Hollow... Onion Creek... wyldwood...
Sunset Valley... San Leanna... Webberville... Creedmoor... del Valle...
Maha... Pilot Knob and Manchaca.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches are possible in
the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Travis County in south central Texas...
east central Hays County in south central Texas...

* until 1100 am CDT

* at 853 am CDT... the public and spotters reported heavy rain in
southeast Travis County due to thunderstorms. This will cause
Urban and Small Stream flooding. Widespread one to two inches of
rain have fallen with isolated totals between three and four and a
half inches. Minor street flooding has been reported and will
continue. While rainfall rates have decreased from earlier this
morning continued rainfall could add to the street flooding across
the Austin Metro area. Another one to one and one half inch is
possible across the advisory area.
