Special Statement
Issued: 5:48 AM CDT May. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Gusty winds along the immediate Upper Texas coast this
morning...

Elevated winds have developed in the wake of thunderstorms moving
across southeast Texas earlier this morning and are expected to
persist along the immediate Upper Texas coast through the next 1-3
hours. Expect sustained east to southeast winds 15-25 mph with
gusts to 30-40 mph. Wind speeds will decrease significantly as one
moves north of coastal areas. Lightweight or loose outdoor
objects should be secured or brought inside until winds subside.

These winds may make travel difficult on elevated roadways,
including the George and Cynthia Mitchell Memorial causeway in
Galveston County and the Surfside Beach bridge in Brazoria County.
