A tropical disturbance pushing toward the Bahamas, is expected to develop into a tropical depression or storm, and will likely target Florida and the Gulf Coast this weekend into next week.

Right now, the disturbance remains a broad area of low pressure pushing through the Dominican Republic and Haiti, headed toward the southeast Bahamas. Rainfall totals over 3 inches (with locally higher amounts) are expected in HispaƱiola, particularly over elevated terrain.

south central East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
northwestern Ascension Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* until 300 PM CDT Thursday

* at 243 PM CDT... Bluff Swamp near Kleinpeter gauge reported a stage
of 12.95 feet at 2 PM CDT. Backwater and inland flooding continues
to be ongoing from the heavy rains of last week. Water levels are
beginning to drain slowly. Some showers and thunderstorms may
delay the drainage rate each afternoon.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Baton Rouge... Gonzales... Oak Hills Place... St. Gabriel...
Sorrento... Shenandoah... Inniswold... geismer... Old Jefferson...
