... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* precipitation... some freezing drizzle... 2 to 4 inches snow
total.

* Timing... some freezing drizzle is possible through 9 am...
changing to light snow from northwest to southeast. Light snow
will continue this morning and taper off this afternoon.

* Winds... north at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 35 mph.

* Impacts... travel will become dangerous as roads become snow-
covered and slick. Falling and blowing snow will reduce
visibilities. Air travel could also be affected at regional
airports.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
periods of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.

... A band of heavier snow moving into the Tri-Cities...

At 620 am CST, Doppler radar was tracking a band of heavier snow
along a line extending from near Chapman to Kearney to near Funk.
Movement was south at 20 mph.

Falling and blowing snow within this band was reducing the
visibility to three quarters of a mile. Strong winds of 25 to 35
mph were also occurring. At 553 am CST, winds gusted to 37 mph
at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island.

This band of snow will reach the following locations near...
Axtell and Funk around 640 am CST.
Grand Island around 600 am CST.
Phillips around 655 am CST.
Wilcox around 705 am CST.
Aurora around 715 am CST.
Hildreth around 720 am CST.
Stockham and Hastings around 730 am CST.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 256 and 338.

Slow down and use caution if traveling.
