... Significant weather advisory for eastern Morris... Shawnee... west
central Douglas... southern Wabaunsee... Osage... south central Jackson
and Lyon counties until 545 am CDT...

At 514 am CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 5 miles northeast of Silver Lake to 5 miles
northwest of Eskridge to near Wilsey. Movement was south at 40 mph.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Topeka, Emporia, Osage City, Council Grove, Carbondale, Rossville,
Eskridge, Tecumseh, Richland, Dover, Silver Lake, Auburn, Overbrook,
Lyndon, Burlingame, Americus, Scranton, Maple Hill, Harveyville and
reading.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 143.
Interstate 70 between mile markers 339 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 116 and 185.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.


A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 am CDT for
east central Kansas.
