* At 08 PM Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Maximum forecast stage of 23.4 feet Friday April 28.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* At 23.0 feet... most low land inside the levee system is flooded.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from this evening through
Sunday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east Arkansas, southeast Missouri, and west
Tennessee, including the following areas, in east Arkansas,
Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, cross, Greene, Lawrence, Lee,
Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett, Randolph, and St. Francis. In
southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In west Tennessee,
Dyer, Lake, and Obion.

* From this evening through Sunday evening

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to
produce between 2 to 3 inches across the watch area, with 4 to 6
inches possible over far northeast Arkansas.

* Recent rainfall has saturated soils across the watch area. Any
additional heavy rainfall may result in the potential for
flash flooding and subsequent river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
