Flash Flood Warning
Issued: 7:09 PM CDT Jun. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 845 PM CDT for
Clayton and Fayette counties...

At 705 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the rain has ended
across much of Fayette and Clayton counties. However, the storms had
produced 1 to 3 inches of rain with locally higher amounts. This has
resulted in significant rises on smaller streams that flow into the
Turkey River, such as Otter Creek. Locations near these streams are
expected to experience flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
