Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 7:07 AM CST Dec. 4, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 am CST this
morning...

* short term trends... snow will begin to end from west to east
across the advisory area this morning. Western locations around
Mason City may see another half inch of snow before it
diminishes. Farther east... the snow will linger a bit longer
with another inch or two possible before ending late this
morning.

* Storm total snow... snow accumulations will generally be in the 2
to 3 inch range... locally to 4 in spots... before ending. Most of
those higher accumulations will be on vegetation with lesser
amounts on roads due to melting and treatment.

* Winds/visibility... southeast winds may exceed 10 mph at times
but will have little impact. Visibilities will be steady from
just under a mile to around two miles.

* Impacts... primary impacts will be travel conditions. The
consistency of the snow will make it slushy and slippery on
roadways... especially bridges and overpasses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Motorists are urged to
slow down... drive defensively and exercise caution on snow
covered roads this morning as many will be unaccustomed to winter
driving conditions.
