Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 5:38 AM EDT Jun. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 900 am EDT for Bay and
Midland counties...

At 533 am EDT, Doppler radar showed a persistent area of rainfall
containing isolated thunderstorms lifting across the warned area.
This rainfall in combination with the 3 to 6 inches of rain that has
already fallen will continue to result in flooding throughout the
area. Law enforcement has reported that many roads are flooded.

Some locations that will experience flooding include... Midland, Bay
City, Auburn, Pinconning, Coleman, Sanford, Kawkawlin, Essexville,
Edenville, Linwood, Oil City, Pleasant Valley, Munger, hope, Mount
Forest, Crump, Bombay, Porter township, North Bradley and Poseyville.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to an inch are possible in the
warned area through 9 am.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
