Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:16 AM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 PM EST /8 PM CST/
this evening to 4 am EST /3 am CST/ Monday...

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a
Winter Weather Advisory... which is in effect from 9 PM EST /8 PM
CST/ this evening to 4 am EST /3 am CST/ Monday.

Hazardous weather...

* an extended period of light snow will impact the advisory area
starting this evening and continuing into Sunday night. The
heaviest snowfall is currently expected north of Route 6 where
6 to 9 inches of snow may fall over a roughly 36 hour period.

* Locations south of Route 6 may see lesser amounts as
temperatures warm to near or just above freezing... allowing for
some melting of the snow as well as the potential of rain
mixing at times. Generally 4 to 6 inches of snow is possible
between Route 30 and Route 6.

Impacts...

* the snow will cause slippery conditions on untreated roads
tonight into at least the first part of Sunday across the
advisory area. Conditions may improve somewhat south of Route 6
   Sunday afternoon and evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
